Terms of Service

These terms do not govern purchases from our I>Fear online store at i-fear.myshopify.com. Orders placed there are subject to the terms, shipping information and refund policy presented at checkout.

Our company website is provided for information about our company and what we make. You agree to use it only for lawful purposes, not to scrape, probe or disrupt it, and not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell or exploit any part of it without our written permission. It links to third-party sites — including our online store, the app, the App Store, Google Play and social networks — which we do not control and are not responsible for.

The names I AM GREATER THAN FEAR, I>Fear and 67433 Key to the City, our logos, designs, artwork, photography, copy and code are our property and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Nothing in these terms grants you a licence to use them.

You sign in to the app with your mobile phone number: we text a one-time code to the number you give us, and entering it creates or unlocks your account. Keep control of your phone number — anyone who can receive texts at it can sign in to your account, and you are responsible for activity under it. If you lose access to your number, contact us and we will help you recover your account. Message and data rates may apply to the codes we text you.

The app is not intended for anyone under 13, and you must be at least 18 to buy a membership.

A Key to the City membership is a monthly subscription: you pay a flat recurring fee for member deals rather than buying each deal individually. Billing runs through Stripe and renews automatically until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time from the billing portal linked in your profile. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep access for the remainder of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund partial periods except where the law requires it.

You redeem a deal yourself, in store, by tapping Redeem and confirming. Confirming creates the redemption record, and creating it is the redemption — there is no separate step, and it cannot be undone or reversed. Confirm only when you are ready to use the deal.

A deal may carry limits, all of which we enforce on our servers:

• A total number of redemptions across everyone.
• A cap on how many times a single person can redeem it.
• A start and end date outside which it cannot be redeemed.
• An audience, where some deals are open to everyone and others to members only.

A redemption that falls outside those limits will be refused. Some deals also list recurring weekly hours; those are shown in the app as guidance, and whether to honour a deal outside them is the business's decision.

Events may have a capacity. When you RSVP, we determine whether you are going or waitlisted based on the space available at that moment — it is not something you choose, and we do not promote people off the waitlist automatically. Cancelling marks your RSVP as not going; the record itself is kept. A business may cancel an event it is hosting.

By creating a business you confirm that you are authorised to act for it. You are responsible for the accuracy of everything you publish — deals, prices, fine print, hours and events — and for honouring the deals you publish for anyone presenting a valid redemption. You grant us the right to display the content you upload within the app.

If you hold a business plan, you can switch to another business plan, or to a membership, from the billing portal linked in your profile. A switch changes what you are billed from your next renewal onward: nothing is charged or refunded for the current billing period, and your billing date does not change. The services included in a business plan are delivered each month according to the plan billed on that month's renewal invoice. Business plans renew and cancel the same way as a membership.

• Do not misrepresent yourself or your relationship to a business.
• Do not attempt to bypass redemption limits, audience restrictions or event capacity.
• Do not upload unlawful, infringing or misleading content.
• Do not scrape, probe or otherwise disrupt the service.
• Do not share your account in order to give others member access.

We have no tolerance for objectionable or abusive content. You can report a business, deal or event from its page in the app, and we review every report. We may remove content that breaks these terms and suspend or close the accounts that publish it.

The app is a marketplace. Deals and events are offered by independent businesses, not by us. We do not sell the goods or services a deal describes, we do not set their prices or terms, and we are not a party to what happens between you and a business. If a business declines to honour a deal, tell us and we will follow it up, but the obligation is theirs.

We may add, change or withdraw features at any time. We aim to keep the website and the app available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

To the fullest extent the law allows, the website and the app are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the website or the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses.

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time, from Edit Profile in the app; if you own a business in the app, email us and we will close it for you. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California.

We will post changes on this page and move the effective date at the top. Continuing to use the website or the app after a change means you accept it.
